 ITC@EDU Net Minimize

The potentials of information technology are immense. Potentials alone will, however, not bring the mankind any step forward. Only a human, who understands the potentials and knows how to use them efficiently can benefit from them. Civil engineering is one of the fields where the potentials of information technology can be used for the benefit of the whole human race since every human needs a pleasant room for living and working. Better buildings can be constructed with less effort, less energy consumption and higher comfort. For this reason we are trying to make the tools and methods, offered by the modern information technology, available and understandable to civil engineers.

The ITC@EDU Network has been founded at the panel discussion at the 1st internationl ITC@EDU workshop in Portorož on 13 September 2002 to support and link together teachers in the area of Informatics and IT in Construction.

The main activities of the network are:

  1. communicating related information between members
  2. organising ITC@EDU workshops
  3. providing framework for interest groups (e.g. ITC Master) and their projects (e.g. ITC Euromaster Erasmus project)

Membership is personal and free. You can view the members' database and join by choosing Members in the menu. For discussions the Forum service is at your disposal. Further services should be added in the future.

The next ITC@EDU workshop will take place in Maribor on June 26th, 2007. It will be organised in conjunction with the CIB w78 conference.

ITC Euromaster Erasmus project has finished sucsessfuly in 2005 and the program is running. Experiences show, however, that a more open organisation of courses would be preferred, therefore partners decided for the ITC Course pool, which allows a more open and flexible cooperation.

The strong motivation of our members to organise the fourth workshop shows the ITC network took roots. The workshop has been  held jointly with the
CIB W78 conference, which took place in Dresden in July 2005.

The ITC Euromaster postgraduate programme started in 2004/2005. For details please visit the ITC Euromaster portal.
